Is QuoteKernel a chatbot?
No. QuoteKernel is the quoting intelligence layer your chatbot or agent calls. You keep the conversational experience you already use.
Who is it for?
Businesses that get asked "how much?" before they book a job, and the agencies and developers who build agents for them. A business can set up and connect QuoteKernel itself, or work with an agency or developer.
What's a "kernel"?
One business's pricing, taught to QuoteKernel and ready for an agent to call. If you build agents for five businesses, you configure five kernels.
How does QuoteKernel use AI?
QuoteKernel is a hybrid domain reasoning engine: probabilistic reasoning inside deterministic boundaries. AI reasoning interprets the request, estimates the work from similar past jobs, recommends packages, picks the next question and judges its confidence. Deterministic logic calculates the exact amounts and enforces hard constraints, minimum margins and approvals. Domain intelligence brings industry and business knowledge, and governance validates every result, calibrates confidence and escalates to a person when needed. See how it works
02 / Compatibility 4 questions

Compatibility

Does it work with my chatbot or voice agent?
Yes. QuoteKernel works with tool-capable chatbots, voice agents and workflow tools through MCP or API, including Claude. If your agent can call a tool, it can ask QuoteKernel for a quote.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets AI agents use outside tools. QuoteKernel is an MCP server. Your agent connects to it and gets quoting tools. More in the docs
Do I need to change my agent's prompt?
A little. Tell it to ask QuoteKernel before giving any price, and to relay QuoteKernel's sentence word for word. The tools explain this to the agent too.
Can I use one kernel with several agents?
Yes. Several authorized agents can call the same business's quoting logic, so your website chat, voice agent and workflow tools all quote the same way.
03 / Safety 6 questions

Safety

What happens when my agent forgets to ask something?
QuoteKernel returns the missing inputs and the next required question. The agent cannot get a valid quote simply by skipping required information.
Does it invent prices?
No. AI reasoning can estimate a range or recommend a package, but a firm price is issued only on confirmed inputs, with the amounts calculated exactly by your configured rules and policy. When information is missing, invalid, ambiguous or outside the boundaries you set, it asks for more information, returns a range or a recommendation with its confidence, or declines to quote. It doesn't guess a firm price.
Will QuoteKernel give the same price every time?
A firm quote is issued only on confirmed inputs your rules and policy allow: the same confirmed job and the same rules give the same firm quote. Where a request is ambiguous, QuoteKernel estimates the work and returns a range, a recommendation with its confidence, or a question, and hands off to a person when it isn't sure.
Can a quote require approval?
Yes. Approval rules hold a quote for a person to review before the business commits, so an agent cannot commit the business beyond its authority. Every result is an estimate, and only a person at the business can commit to a price.
Can a customer talk the agent into a discount?
No. The number doesn't come from the chat, so arguing with the agent doesn't change it. Discounts only apply if the business set them up.
Can a competitor scrape a business's prices through its agent?
QuoteKernel is built to stop that. There's no way for a public chatbot to download a business's whole price list.
04 / Setup 3 questions

Setup

Do I have to know how to code?
No. Business owners define services, prices and questions as configuration, starting from an industry model. You can connect QuoteKernel to the chatbot, voice agent or workflow you already use through MCP or API yourself, or have your agency or developer do it.
How does it learn my business?
You provide rates, policies, questions and the jobs you won't price, or let QuoteKernel pick them up from your past quotes and invoices and review what it found. QuoteKernel turns your firm pricing into explicit rules you can read, learns from your past quotes how you estimate and package the jobs that aren't clear-cut, checks it all, and lets you test them against jobs you already know the price of. A guided scenario review lets you mark results as right, too high or too low and correct them. How training the kernel works
What if my prices change?
Update the kernel. QuoteKernel checks the new version before it goes live, and you can roll back. Quotes already given keep the price they were given at.
